INTIMACY

The sense of intimacy created by the direct connection with each person watching the performance - alone in his/her own space -
allows for a deeper introspection into
the performer's inner being.

DISENTHRALLMENT

In the virtual reality, the notion of physical space and time are reinvented, giving the performers the freedom to act out their dreams and fantasies without the inherent limitations of a traditional stage and a live audience.

TRANSCENDENCE

Added to the intimacy and the freedom provided by the virtual reality comes - true or false - the recognition of the performer's "safe space" and the feeling he/she can transcend through the creative process.

BEYOND THE FOURTH WALL
I believe Virtual Theater to be a brand new creative language. While it might share some structural and methodical elements with other languages like live theater, film and video, it also contains unique methods of communication and artistic expression. To think of virtual theater as recorded or broadcasted theater or, as a video or film adaptation of a stage performance, would not only be a shortsighted vision of the platform but also a misapplication of its creative and communicative potential.
