Listening to The Silence

Short livestream sessions exploring the virtual connection in silence

“Don't look for meaning in the words. Listen to the silences...”  - Samuel Beckett

PROPOSAL

Explore the virtual connection in a series of one-on-one short livestream sessions. The idea is to connect and communicate without words.

THE SETUP

For the initial meetings, the participants must be in front of a plain background - flat wall, drapes, door or anything bare and without pictures or decorations. The frame should be from the chest to the top of the head. The lighting should be flat with not shadows on the face. Even though the participants are requested to remain in silence, the sound should be on so they can hear each others breath. If the person is using other than the computer’s camera, this should be close to the screen so when “sending” the energy they can still see the “receiving” person on the screen.

THE SESSION

There’s absolutely not talking during these short sessions - from the moment when the session starts to when it ends. The idea is to enter in a silent conversation. The person “sending” the energy will look not at the other person’s eyes but straight to the camera lens. The person “receiving” the energy will look at the other person’s eyes on the screen. The turn to “send” and “receive” will be negotiated silently. Learning when to “send” and when to “receive” is part of this exploration. It’s not a staring contest. You can look away, move your head, etc. just like you would if you were actually talking using words.
More information will be sent out to participants prior to the session.

THE DURATION

These are experiments so the duration of the sessions might change after the firsts sessions but initially I would like to start with 8 minutes sessions. The idea of timing them is so everyone has the same chance to connect.

SCHEDULING A SESSION

I will be posting here and on social media a schedule for these meetings. In the meantime, if you are interested in participating, please contact me. - Thanks

Essential Oils and Incense … a Virtual Exploration

Exploring the power of sensory-memories and the connection between the senses

A day had already past but just recalling the explosion of flavors in my mouth from the garlic pork chop I had made me want to scream as loud as I could - the energy was just too strong to just talk about it. - GL

GENERAL PROPOSAL

Explore the role of sensory-memories in virtual connections by using essential oils and/or incense to trigger those memories.

SENSE(S) TARGETTED

Since perhaps SMELL and VOMERONASAL are the senses more neglected in a virtual connection - we definitively can not smell the people on the other side of the virtual connection - I thought it would be interesting to start these series of explorations with these two senses.

TYPES OF EXPLORATIONS

SHORT EXPLORATIONS - Virtual group or private sessions under 15 minutes in length focusing on a couple of scents only so the participant(s) get used to establishing the connection to their sensory-memories.

LONG EXPLORATIONS FOR CREATIVE PEOPLE - Virtual group or private 45 minutes sessions exploring different scents. The participant(s) will be encourage to transmute the energy triggered by the scents or their evoked sensory-memories into creative energy and then express this energy any way they choose. The idea here is to reinforce the connection with the other participant(s) by translating the impulses into a creative language that the other participant(s) can understand.

LONG NO-LINITS EXPLORATIONS - These are the same as the long explorations for creative people but offered on The Bare Canvas umbrella. More information about these and other Bare Canvas explorations coming soon.
