I'm a Sensory-Somatic Artist - Photographer, Film and Video Maker, Theater Artist - and a Coach. My work is just the best way I know to connect to myself and others. My purpose as an artist and as a coach is not to share my own truth - or to impose my personal views on others - but to inspire you and encourage you to find your own truth and your own path towards achieving your creative and personal goals.

This website is both, my VIRTUAL LABORATORY and my ONLINE PORTFOLIO. The virtual laboratory section - this page - is a place for me to experiment, transcend as an individual and as an artist and, connect with you virtually. It is the heart of this website and the force that keeps me relevant as an artist. The Online Portfolio section is a virtual retrospective of my creative work in photography, theater and perpetual seeker and scholar of the arts. Just as the Virtual Laboratory keeps my creative spirit alive, the Online Portfolio is there to remind me of the trajectory that have brought me here today and, by “making my unknown known”, to encourage you find the points of connection to my work and to your own creative soul.

Following the flow of the energy is essential to the creative process. It all starts with the kindling of a musing energy - a sensory-somatic impulse or a thought - igniting a sensetorming session - a chain reaction of sensory-somatic stimuli in our bodies - or/and a brainstorming session - an exercise of words association in our brains.

The Lightbox and The Bare Canvas are virtual viewing room for sharing selected, rough, un-edited images created during a Sensetorming Session (Creative Energy Workouts), a Brainstorming Session or/and a Project Development Session. While The Lightbox is open to all visitors of this website, The Bare Canvas is part of my Absolute Creative Space - a private space for me to create without limitations or restrictions - which content might be offensive to some viewers.

Not all musing energies evolve or transform from impulse or thought to images and, sometimes they are better expressed in words. The images and videos on The Lightbox and The Bare Canvas are usually posted after the musing energies go into the devising process.

The Lightbox and The Bare Canvas are “mood boards” - temporary galleries. Only images connected to current projects or “triggers” that might become projects will be saved and moved to the appropriate project page.

about these notes

Some days ... ideas, creative triggers, crazy thoughts and impulses, fragments from a dream, mental images, a particular word and many other sources of inspiration come to my mind so, I quickly try to jot them down - on a whiteboard I have by my desk or wherever else I can find - before the get replaced by another thought or idea. While some of these notes correspond to impulses or thoughts already mentioned on The Virtual Laboratory section of this page, I wanted to keep this permanent section separate as a quick reminder - both for you and for myself - of what’s going on not only on The Virtual Laboratory but on the portfolio areas of this website.

about creating from within

This morning, looking at old photographs, I felt a bit “nostalgic” about working with models and actors. After mentioning this to a former “muse”, her comments unchained a great number of “thoughts” about not only the difference between working with others - models, actors - and being “my own muse” but also, about how sometimes “necessity” is an artist best guide to our creative journey.

about sexual fantasies and the illusory world of theater

Thinking about the whole “gods and monsters” concept and how this might have been shaped by my catholic upbringing. In the original play (Becoming a Rose), a reference to “Incubus” was made in the “Dreams and Fantasies” scenes and, although the concept of how these - dreams and fantasies - are part of the “illusory world of theater”, I would like to explore further into how these “characters” are just “masks” that allow us to free ourselves in the theater.

Becoming a Rose was without a doubt an intimate and honest exposé of my personal and creative worlds. Every day since this virtual theater piece was streamed live a little over two years ago, I keep going back creatively or emotionally to a scene from the play. Revisiting this crucial moment in my personal and creative journey seems not only inevitable but also necessary.
